Step 2: THE DESIGN CONSULTATION
Our complimentary design consultation is where you’ll meet your designer for the first time! In this meeting, your designer will either come to your home or meet virtually to learn more about your space. They’ll ask what is currently working and not working in your home, your dreams and desires for the space, and how this new design can bring joy to your everyday life. From there, you decide whether or not you’d like to move forward with the design process.
Step 3: DESIGN/MEASURING
If you choose to move forward with our design process, your designer will come to your home and measure out the space to create an “as-built” drawing. In some cases, the measure can happen in the same meeting as your design consult. Over the next week or two, your designer will create two 3D renderings of your completed design to present in your next meeting!
Step 4: IDEAS MEETING
This is where collaboration and creativity come into play! Our exciting ideas meeting allows you to see two completed designs in a 3D rendering. Typically, one design will be, verbatim, what you are looking for. The second rendering will be a creative take on the original design, where your designer will use space planning and elements you may not have thought of to give a different perspective of how your plan could lay out. From there, you edit, mix, and match to create the one perfect design you’d like to move forward with. If you’re happy with the design and would like to move forward to our final plan review and pricing, you’ll put down a $2,000 deposit.
Step 5: SELECTIONS MEETING
It’s time to select the materials for your space! In this meeting, you and your designer will meet at a design center, where you’ll choose the perfect materials, colors, and style to complete the look and feel of your home remodel.
Step 6: PRODUCTION WALK
Now, it’s time to meet your project manager! Your PM will be your point of contact throughout construction, and will manage your production schedule as well as all of the trades working in your home. In this meeting, your PM will walk the areas you’re remodeling to jot down anything of note for the construction team. They’ll also look to get ahead of any potential challenges that may affect the timeline of your project so that we can give you the most accurate schedule for your remodel.
Step 7: FINAL PLAN REVIEW
This meeting is where you’ll finalize your plan and pricing. In the plan review, your designer will review every detail of the final construction drawings and present an itemized list of costs for the entirety of your project (from design through material costs and construction). If you choose to move forward on building out the design, we’ll collect the final half of your deposit as well as a 50% payment towards your cabinet cost.
Step 8: CONSTRUCTION
It’s finally time to bring your new home to life! Construction of your space will take between 7 and 16 weeks, depending upon the scope, size, and complexity of your design. You will receive a detailed construction calendar and weekly updates throughout the project via the Buildertrend mobile app, and your project manager will handle everything else (scheduling, material needs, trades) on your behalf. If you have any questions or concerns throughout this stage, your PM will either be on-site or a quick phone call away.
Step 9: WELCOME TO YOUR NEW SPACE!Your new space is ready to be shared with the people you love! You’ll also have the option to have a “wrap party”, on us, to debut your incredible new home to friends and family.
Customer service and building joy are why we do what we do. The FBC process seeks to take the stress of remodeling off of the homeowner so that every client can fully enjoy the fun, creative, and exciting parts of design!
What sets us apart from many other remodeling partners is our commitment to providing you with one final price before you begin construction. Our process helps us to get in front of any challenges or special needs prior to construction, but even if an unforeseen issue pops up, you will not be charged with additional costs once we put your design into production.
OUR CLIENTS LOVE US — WE’RE CONFIDENT YOU WILL, TOO!
“We are really happy with how the overall project was managed from coordination with the trades, keeping things clean and minimizing impact on the rest of the house. We are still amazed that all this got done in the time that it did.
Anton Family
The team had price in their jobs and wanted us to be happy with the project. Our PM would many time clean up after the tradesmen for a couple hours. It was always clean, and even our neighbors would comment on it when they came over to see the progress.
The Wagners
I have so much love for the entire team and my “new” house. Everything is so much better than I ever could have dreamed. Everyone should go with these people who I now call friends. Extra mile every time. Love for everyone!
The Shanika Family
