2022 Renovation Trends in the Home
As we all know, 2020 was the year of working from home, bringing what you love home to you, and spending more time indoors with the family. During 2020 and 2021 we completed many practical home remodels that helped to create space and functionality in the home. 2022 renovation trends are beginning to see a shift in style, color, and design towards some fun new areas!
Now that (hopefully) most issues we saw during the pandemic are behind us, and we are well into 2022, we see some fun new renovation trends arise! While we are still seeing the practical remodels of 2020 and 2021, such as home office and gym additions, we are beginning to see a shift in design element trends. Towards the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, we started to see a change from soft, light, and airy colors to bold, moody, and dark.

What are the 2022 renovation trends now?

Bold and moody vibes are making a comeback! Mixing bold wallpapers, darker, moody colors, and wood tones are becoming more and more popular this year. We are also seeing a beautiful new kitchen trend where clients are taking quartz backsplashes up to the ceiling to add height and interest to the room!

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen a lot of changes in the home, like spending more time indoors, working, and exercising from home.
We’re still seeing remodel projects like private gyms, home offices, and basement finishes to create a better fit and function for the family. Additional living and recreation spaces, like new bedrooms, game rooms, and home theaters, are still trending from 2021 into 2022.
We are seeing a few pretty fun trends popping up in 2022 like beautiful boho arches and bold geometric walls.

The trends are in the details! We are seeing a lot of fun pops of color with tile and moody, darker bathroom remodels. Another element we are seeing more and more of is standalone bathtubs and gorgeous wall-mounted sinks!
