Customer Reviews

FBC Remodel is proud to Build Joy® for homeowners. See what our customers have to say about working with us.

“The design/construction approach by FBC produced an excellent finished product for us. We added a large recreation room for pool, TV and games along with a bedroom and bathroom. Ceiling soffits, arched entries and angled walls created a unique and inviting space. The project team and trade partners did fine work and we are very happy with our new basement. All work was completed on schedule and within budget. The best part was having all construction access through the basement window. Our only advice is to carefully review all design details to assure that everything you want is clearly specified in the drawings. Then be part of the team by doing quality control as the project moves along.”

“We can't say enough about the design team at FBC. We had multiple companies bid on our project and everyone else came back with the same basic design (a good but not spectacular layout). But FBC looked at the space from a completely different angle and in the process was able to create everything on our wishlist including an extra room. The design was elegant and functional and our family now benefits from it every day.”

Michael S.

“FBC did an amazing job with our 1600 sq ft basement. The sales team listened to our vision, offered several options and helped us stay within budget. Our PM was fantastic! We received daily communication with minimal life interruption, realistic expectations and partnered with us to ensure every aspect was covered. They even finished early!!! We had met with 2 other contractors and are so happy about our choice! They accommodated our quirky requests for a brewery room, rerouting our laundry dryer vent, closeting our water piping for access and exterior window well changes. Best choice ever!!!”

Bathroom Remodel Planning

At FBC Remodel, each of our designs is custom and crafted specifically for each client so you will get exactly what you want and need out of your space. We take pride in the ownership we have over every space we design – so you know it will be special. Before we even begin to design your space, our designers will take the time to get to know you, understand your lifestyle, and how you use your space and need it to function. This way, they can design a room that is perfect for your needs. Before you meet with our designers, think about the following topics to ensure you know what you need from your bathroom design. You can also use our pre-design consult checklist to help you keep track of your thoughts and ideas before you meet with your designer.

BATHROOM LAYOUT

Is the current layout of your bathroom working for you? When you walk into your bathroom what is your immediate thought about the layout? Do you find yourself longing that you had a stand-alone shower or a soaker tub? Does the vanity feel too small or are you lacking the bathroom storage that you need to tuck everything away?

Take note of how you feel inside your bathroom on a daily basis and take some time to notice what is or isn’t working for you. If you love your current layout and instead see a need for an update in the finishes of your space, you may want to look at updating your bathroom rather than remodeling it.

Things to consider:

  • Adding a sink to your vanity or in another part of the bathroom
  • Creating a separate room for the toilet
  • Adding or removing a closet

Bathtub vs. Shower

If you’re ready to remodel a master bathroom, it’s important to consider if you need a bathtub or a shower in your space. Maybe you already have a shower and a bathtub, but instead want one big shower, or a standalone tub. The options are truly endless when it comes to deciding what’s the best fit for your daily usage! Talk to your design team about your wants and how you would like the room to flow and look to see what the best fit for you would be!

Bathroom Storage

Get creative with bathroom storage by adding open shelving, cabinets, or even expand your space to include a linen closet. Before you begin your remodel, think about what you need to store in your bathroom – maybe that’s medicine, makeup, towels, or other miscellaneous items. Your designer can help you add as much or as little storage as you need for your bathroom.

Lighting & Ventilation

Is the ventilation and lighting in your bathroom working for you? Better lighting can completely change the feel of a space and if your bathroom is too bright or too dark updating the lighting or even adding a window may be a great option. If your bathroom isn’t getting enough ventilation then you should consider updating your exhaust fan. Proper ventilation is essential in a bathroom to avoid long-term issues.

Bathroom Expansion

If your bathroom simply isn’t big enough anymore, an expansion may be part of your bathroom remodel. Maybe you need to convert your bathroom from a hall bath to a master bath and expand into a bedroom. If your bathroom is already connected to a room then you may want to consider a bedroom suite upgrade as well to build out your sanctuary and create a cohesive and beautiful space.

Bathroom Remodel Cost Drivers

A bathroom remodel can vary greatly in scope and cost based on the size, the amount of remodeling needed, and the finishes you choose for your space. Due to the custom nature of our design projects, we can’t guarantee a price for your project without first seeing your space and discussing the scope of the work. However we do have some common cost drivers listed below that may impact the overall cost of your project:

Moving the plumbing or electricity – If you need to move electricity or plumbing within your bathroom remodel, this may seriously impact the cost of your project. Moving either of these may result in the need to open up walls or floors throughout the rest of the space and will add to the scope of work.

Adding mechanicals – If you need to add any mechanincals like electrical for a jet tub, HVAC, or plumbing, this can quickly add up in the cost of your project. You may need to add or subtract from your scope of work based on the amount of mechanicals needed in order to keep your remodel in budget.

Finishes – The selections you choose for your finishes can greatly affect your cost. Things like tile selections, plumbing, fixtures and more allow you to choose within your budget and ultimately impact your bottom line.

Expansion – The choice to expand your bathroom or include a bedroom suite upgrade in your bathroom remodel can impact your final cost.

Bathroom Remodel Construction Timeline

Construction timelines can vary depending on your scope of work and the size of your space. Typically, FBC Remodel bathroom remodel projects are constructed in approximately one to one and a half months. However, the timeline can be reduced or extended based on size and scope. While a half bath could take closer to one month to complete, a master bathroom remodel can take closer to one and a half months or even a bit longer
